Pet Portraits for Deserving Pups
This is Alfie. He started it all. I took photos of Alfie (then Simba) for Agave Dogs Rescue in 2018. Previously I took pictures of my own pets, and I also spent some time capturing images of cats in a sanctuary, but I find I have a special place in my heart for the rescue dogs. I especially love when rescue dogs become foster dogs and then become new family members in loving adoptive homes. Being a part of this process is truly a privilege.
Rescue dogs are often shy or a bit nervous when I meet them. Many of these dogs are trying to adjust to a new foster home after being rescued from abuse, neglect, life on the street, or life in a high-kill shelter. Doing this work isn’t always easy, but it is always rewarding. I love to photograph dogs (and other animals too). Actually, I’m up for just about any animal in front of my lens.
In addition to my photography work with these pups, our family has fostered multiple dogs and even adopted our own dog from Agave! To find out more about the organization, how to volunteer, donate and/or adopt, visit their website or join them on Facebook.
I am also available to photograph your pet or pets, whether they a dog, cat or something else entirely. Any day I get to capture images of animals, it is a good day for me. My sessions can include just your pet or pets, primarily your pet, family sessions where your pet is included. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me with ideas and questions.
What pet or pets do you have, and do you think they are photogenic? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
